EGR System

Ladies and gentlemen,
For a month now I have been working trying to figure out why my h22a in my 92 prelude has been running like hell. It only has issues when its warmed up and until then it runs like a champ.
At first I thought O2 sensor, so I swapped it. Then I swapped the distributor, rotor, plugs, wires, ICM, IACV (for the hell of it) and cleaned the FITV.
Then I checked my fuel injectors, checked for vacuum leaks and the entire exhaust system rigorously.
My timing is spot on and it seems that everything should be working fine. I even cleaned the egr valve and while doing this realized that one valve can't supply exhaust gases to all the cylinders without some sort of delivery system.
After cleaning the egr out I added seafoam to the outlet side of the egr port, knowing full well the risk of what it could do to my engine without dilution. After letting it sit for an hour I turned the car over a few times with the main fuel relay fuse pulled.
Then I let it sit unstarted for another hour.
Upon start-up, and after the initial crappy run from the seafoam, the car runs much much better. The seafoam seems to have cleaned out enough of the carbon in the EGR passages to make a difference.
However, I still dont like it. Knowing I have a system that's sole purpose is to inject soot and exhaust into my nice clean engine is driving me bonkers.
I intend to do the egr delete and don't care if I pop codes for awhile since I'll be installing a P28 chipped before too long.

Heres the big question. To replace the lower end of the IM with a manifold that DOES NOT INCLUDE the EGR system. Perhaps a stock manifold from another style engine like the B18 or B20 might fit? Any ideas?

Re: EGR System

Check out the Euro-R intake manifold. If my memory serves me correctly they lack EGR systems. If they do ive seen tuner websites that sell the manifold with the modifications done to bolt up to a H22a.

Re: EGR System

Thanks! I'm just trying to make sure they have the IACV and FITV mounts before I buy one. I don't want to have to fight the install too much if I do get it. I need to just call them and see.
