Icon5 H23a3 Knock sensor?

So looked and couldn't find an answer to this...

Is the H23a3 motor supposed to have a knock sensor? I looked elsewhere online and they say it doesn't but I got confused...LOL!

My engine is throwing the code 23 for a knock sensor and I found where it was and pulled it out and its pretty much in 2 pieces;; just needing to know if I need to replace it...and if I don't (since they say its not supposed to anyway) is it going to screw the engine up?

Its not necessary to have a knock sensor, but you can get one from honda. I built a g23, H23 head with f22 block and it has no place for the knock sensor. I'm running fine just annoying to have the CEL on

Re: H23a3 Knock sensor?

Well the engine is idling like crap...trying to rule out possibilities.

When coming to a stop it will idle all the way down to near stalling and then jump back up and stay around 500-600 RPMs;; and JUST sunk $600 in it to fix other crap =/

I also just went through this......while removing my head I noticed my knock sensor was in 2 pieces. I tried gluing it together lol {fail} , but that didn't work. After buying a new one I realized that its suppose to be just one assembly. Buy the new sensor around 80-100$$$ and be at ease.
