New Engine help

Hey guys, I'm new here, but my 93 Prelude Si's Engine blew at 210k miles last night and I need to find a new engine, do I have to get a H23A1 or can I put another type of engine in it? I'm not looking to spend too much, my price limit is about $1,000 USD. Any help/advice would be great, thanks.

Re: New Engine help

you can put a h22 into it. but you gotta get the p13 ecu if you decide to do that. any F/H series motor will pretty much drop in. If you decide to do a h23 blue top then you will still need the p13 ecu.

Re: New Engine help

an ecu is the engine control unit, it is pretty much the brain of your car, not too hard to replace but im not sure on the prices of them. i know someone on here can fill you in on the rest of what you need to know. good luck

That motor is usually in rear wheel drive imports. The H series motors have alot more torque and would be alot faster and easier to fit in your car, in my opinion, just do your homework and go with the H22 or find another H23, have you checked the junkyards or salvage yards?
