better than average ECU's.. need a lil advice to which one to get..

ok i have a lil problem on the vtec not engaging.. i honestly think it is the ECU..

heres why i think so..

i am the 3rd owner on this lude.. the first owner had everything stock (to my knowledge).. the 2nd owner did a h22a1 swap in it (dont know what the 1st owner had in it) -- the 2nd owner told me that he didnt change out or rewire the ecu.. i recently did another swap in it.. --> h22A... i dont think the shop rewired or changed out the ecu either.. --> because vtec is not engaging.. i was told that yoyu have to switch out or rewire the ecu whenever there is a motor swap done or things wont function correctly...

p.s.. when i drove off when i bought the car form the 2nd owner, the vtec didnt engage either..

ive done the big things to solve my vtec prob: oil, solenoid, cel codes.. nothing has worked-- i think its the ECU now, any suggestions on what i should do about my ECU? or any suggestions why my vtec is not working..?

get a new ecu? go to a shop and make them rewire it or something? just let me know thanks guys..

i honestly think my car is in limp mode.. because, when vtec is supposed to engage (around 5200-5300 rpm) my car starts to jerk.. yes, jerk. and my speedometer go back and fourth--> like to say if ur waving ur finger at someone saying no.. I THEN tested something .. i took off the vtec sensor and drove.. i went PASSED the vtec engagement and went into the 6000 rpms.. --> but now, it wont let me go past that. ill get to around 6300 rpms and then my speedometer stops with my car no longer pulling... any idea on why all this is going on??

ill post a video on what the jerking is like if needed.

didnt intend for this to be a story LOL.. sorry

if it is the ecu or you just want a chipped one, phearable.net is the way to go $175

Phearable.net for sure. I got mine from there and I love it. Just make sure you set you 2-step (optional) lower than you really want. I asked for mine at 3500 and it bounces to 4. This was my fault though.

I believe when you got it, you said you felt a significant amount of increased engine response? or something to that nature right?

There was a most definite difference after installation. It was great!

Yeah someone def did not run wires to the ecu from vtec solenoid and pressure switch. . . And also do you have a p13 ecu in your car?

Either your ECU isnt hooked up to the vtec solenoid, or the ecu you have in there wasnt swapped when they did the very first swap. If you dont have a chipped ecu with the vtec installed or a p13 then you have no vtec chipset. What ECU is in it?
