Icon5 map sensor cleaned...

well took it to a friends shop and got an alignment and did some odd jobs to the lude, noticed every now and then a bit of sputter under load the past few days (installed new K&N) but when i got to the shop it got bad and threw a code, p0107 i think (memory) so i cleaned the map sensor with electronics cleaner and put it back on, erased the code and woo. took off from the shop about 10 seconds of driving and now when it drives it feels like the e-brake is engaged, and stalls at lights... any ideas? get rid of k&n? need new map? thanks guys

Re: map sensor cleaned...

Did you reset the ECU after cleaning and reinstalling the sensor?

Re: map sensor cleaned...

the filter wouldn't cause anything like that. i would do what ludimusPrime said and reset the ecu. all you have to do is disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes and re connect it and then see where that leads you.

Re: map sensor cleaned...

alright well went to pull and pay and the said "well we have one here... but we cant find it." how do you lose a car? but anyways, i just got one off an accord, same exact one and put her on, reset the ecu and STILL DOES IT! WTF!? anyone have ideas?

EDIT: oh and only reason i asked bout the filter is i know they can mess with MAF sensors, and im not to familiar with maps.

Re: map sensor cleaned...

Find someone with a verified working MAP. Try it on your car. Maybe another problem coincided with your cleaning of the MAP sensor and yours is fine. Correlation is not always causation, as some say.

Re: map sensor cleaned...

it may be nothing but i just pulled off the plug while it was running and didnt change a damn thing, possible causes for p0107...

The causes of a low MAP sensor signal circuit (P0107) could be any of the following:

* Bad MAP sensor
* Open or short in the signal circuit
* Open or short in the 5 Volt reference circuit
* Ground circuit open or shorted
* Bad PCM

and my friend has the same map so ill try his if i cant find a break or bad ground
