is this normal...please tell me opinions

I changed my drivers CV axle. Not sure if I torqued it down as much or what.
The axle nut doesn't turn down in too much. Please tell me what you guys think. Idk if the axle is too big or what...

one is passenger side and newer gold bolt is drivers side i replaced..

Try swapping the nuts and see how the old one fits on the new axel. It looks like the lip on the new nut stands taller than the old one.

Re: is this normal...please tell me opinions

HAHA!! but yeah new axle and new nut will not look like the old ones.....

as long as you put it on to proper spec and not hand tight you should be ok, and make sure you have the pin in there.

Does the spine slide into the hub easily? I have had the spline damaged from the remanufacture process (thrown into a tub with a bunch of other parts) and had to use a small file set to clean up the splines.

Good luck

Re: is this normal...please tell me opinions

That doesn't look right. It should be at least flush with the axle.

The reason is that they ask you to bend the metal on the nut with the wedge on the axle so the nut doesn't back out. Like in the second picture.

Nissans have a cotter pin so it doesn't back out.

I was in a junkyard trying to get that nut off and I didn't have a saw. I broke my screwdriver trying to get that crease out, and broke my breaker bar and scraped my knee trying to torque the nut out.
