weird lean condition

i have a stock h23a1 with 190k on it and stock ecu. It has an aem short ram with an ebay header and a 2.5 inch cat back with hi flo cat to a 14" magnaflow undercar race muffler out to an obx twin loop
new parts:
new ngk plugs just put in last week
new fuel filter
new wires cap and rotor
new 02 sensor
egr blocked off the right way with no code
my car is throwing a code for the knock sensor(dunno if that could pose a problem)

my question is what can i do to try and narrow down this problem or if it would just be easier to get a phearable ecu. Id have it set up for the i/h/e and get the knock sensor deal eliminated. Any help would be appreciated

Re: weird lean condition

...are you using premium only gas?
you know like the car clearly says to?
if you did a recent oil change could you have knocked the sensor out of place (i did once)

Re: weird lean condition

All I run is premium and what do you mean by knocking it out of place? Do you mean by knocking the wire off

Re: weird lean condition

You could have knocked the plug on the end of the knock sensor hard enough to bump a wire loose or something. I would check to make sure it's plugged in nice and tight first and foremost. Perhaps you got a bad batch of gas? If you think that's possible, maybe try a bottle of octane booster in your next fill up. It's also possible that your knock sensor just went bad after 190k miles.

Re: weird lean condition

I forgot to add also that the ar has been throwing code 23 since I got it last april. If the sensor is bad I'll just get a new ecu and call it a day lol

Re: weird lean condition

Code 23 = Knock Sensor. Try replacing it if it's been bad and the code has been on THAT long.

Re: weird lean condition

Well I messed with the wire and made sure it had a good connection. Checked all vacuum lines just incase there was a leak. All the intake gaskets have no leaks. Cleared the ecu and fired it up and did the 3k rpm for ten seconds and the bastard light came back on lol I guess I will be purchasing the phearable when I get paid
