Major problem please help!

I Have a 93 prelude h22a1...my friend was driving it and he said he downshifted and then it cut off. He pulled over and tryed to restart but it wouldnt. went to look at it and we got it started but wont stay cranked. Only way to stay cranked is to hold gas above like 1500 rpms. Really need help have no clue what it is. Not plugs or wires or vaccuum hoses so any advice is nice and questions about it too. Thanks.

Re: Major problem please help!

Sounds like maybe the Tbelt skipped, or stripped teeth off the belt. Back in the day when i did my first Tbelt change on an H22 i was a few teeth off and had to give it gas at idle to keep it running.

Make sure friends understand the concept of, and how to properly, rev match the motor during downshifts. Every moving part of the car, engine or suspension, will appreciate it.

Re: Major problem please help!

Yeah i just got it too the shop to check it out kinda seem like electrical cus valves arent ticking bad just the regular honda tick. The engine only has like 90k miles, crate motor put in had 75k last summer. I think imma get whole new ignition system, and get timing corrected, and valves adjusted see what happens then.
