Icon5 converting Si to Si-Vtec?

I just picked up a 96 SI and Im thinking about converting it to the SI-VTEC when I get a little extra cash. This is my first honda and really my first car I plan on tuning so Im not sure what I really need to do to make it VTEC.

Has anyone done this or know what needs to be changed? and maybe a price estimate?

Re: converting Si to Si-Vtec?

junkyards r a good place 2 start bring a few hundred bucks and enough tools 2 take a head off and bring a straight edge plus feeler gauges trust me the last thing u want is a warped head

by putting the h22 head on the h23 bottom and making it vtec. does that up the power to 200hp?

Re: converting Si to Si-Vtec?

I decided against it. I dont really care about the vtec, atleast right now. If I was going to do it, I will just swap a H22 in.

Right now Im way more focused on getting all lights set up the way I want and getting black rims put on.

I figure if I keep all the internals OEM, not much will get messed up and then I can use it as a nice trade in or atleast get a better daily driver before I start hacking to much on it.
