Lude on the Fritz!

The story:
I was driving to work today when my lude shut off on me while moving. (didnt stall, seemed to be electical like something disabled my car).(thought it was the alternator but highly doubt it now) I tried to start it and it would start then shut off. I was able to keep it running by holding the key in the "cranking" position and it drove fine to get me to work(Kind of a B*tch to do with a manual btw). when i left work it was fine so i got home thinking it was a fluke. of course not. I went to start it again and it was doing the same thing. The part that get me is that when i remote start it it stays running like normal. then once the key is in and turned to on it shuts off. Some one help! My idea is that its one of the "safety off sensors" disabling it.???

Its a 92 si h23.
Its the viper 5101 remote start and alarm 2-way(never had a prob till now)

Re: Lude on the Fritz!

Hmm that's weird that it started acting up all of a sudden. I would say it's likely something with the alarm, but I doubt it since it just started doing it out of nowhere. Perhaps an ignition switch issue?

It sounds like it would be in you ignition like mechanical, because you can start it fine with the remote but when ya put your key in it shuts off. check out you ignition or even a different spare key its prob not locking the key in the on position

Re: Lude on the Fritz!

It was the ignition switch so i had to replace the whole harness. shes all fixed now. Only cost me 55 bucks since i did it myself and had to rewire my remote start. Thought about doing a write up but i was too pissed off and frustrated lol. Thanks all.
