CEL Code 43

my problem is that im throwing CEL code 43 every time my car warms up or in about 5-10 after the first time i start my car. But after the car is warmed up and i turn it off and then start it back up the code dosent come back on unless it sits for a couple of hours. Along with this im getting bad gas mileage about 14 or 15 mpg.

here is what i have done so far: replaced the o2 sensor and replaced the cap and rotor, and changed out the injectors. i going to try to exchange the o2 sensor just in case its faulty.

my last guess is that its my fuel pressure but i dont have the attachments to check it. no one around here carries the attachment so out of luck on that. i think this because it seems to be running rich and the car smells of gas when im idling or stoped at a stop light. so where could i pick up the fitting i need.

my lude is H22A swapped 95 SE. it has a skunk2 intake mannifold, and megan racing exhaust
forgot to mention i also have an AEM fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator

Re: CEL Code 43

no i havent. i will look in to that
but i also forgot to mention that i have a hose, i think its if i remember correctly, the bottom hose on the T that comes out from the PVC valve that collapses when the car is idling but when i give it throttle then it opens up again. the hose real rubbery, soft, and flexible. i dont know if its supposed to be that way or not but when i take that hose out it does run at higher rpms. ill get a pic of the hose im talking about tomorrow.

Re: CEL Code 43

your car shouldn't smell like gas either, sounds like you could possibly have a leaking injector, when you changed out your injectors did you use new injector o-rings and lube them up? if the injector is leaking it could be leaking into your manifold, causing your car to run rich

Re: CEL Code 43

the smell is coming from the exhaust and the o rings were in prestine condition but that doesnt mean that they aer not leaking.

What size of fitting do i need to cheak my fuel pressure at the fuel pump. from what i gathered it is a 12mm, is that correct and where can i get one of those besides the dealership or is that the only place to get it.
