Compatability issues need help

So yeah..after a terrible accident involving grabbing the wrong gas can at a friends house I completely fried the f22a1 motor in my lude. (btw, muriatic acid and water is JUST about the worst thing you can put in a gas tank. It fried every seal in the poor old f motor) It had 228,000 miles so she had a good run. I had (of course) just dropped $2000 into redoing my suspension and I love this car. No way I was sending it to the scrap yard. It's come a long way. I'm completely redoing it, top to bottom. I have a p14 comp coming, I found a m2f4 trans off a 93 si...wanted the h22a1 attached to it but...it had no head...pistons looked rough...don't really have the time/patience/$ to rebuild it so being that I know where I can get a fairly decent looking h23a1 I was just going to do that. I've got all the external engine components from the f22a1...wiring harness, compressor, alternator, power steering pump etc...My question is...will all the external components including the wiring harness work with the h23a1...I know the motor and trans will work together as all h and f motor/trans combos are workable. The p14 should be the correct ECU for the h23a1...I just need to know if I have to buy a new harness...external parts...or hell any potential problem associated with this type of combination. Any advice or tidbits of info would be useful as I'm new to this type of major vehicle involvement. First engine swap ever for me.

the h23 and f22 are very similar and do not know from personal experience, but am 90% sure that your in the clear with everything. wire harness and external pieces and all.

Re: Compatability issues need help

i've done the reverse, h23a1 to f22a1 swap, and almost everything externally bolted up fine; axles, motor mounts, AC compressor/bracket, alternator & bracket, PS pump, but the ONLYYY thing that might not have fit was the PS pump bracket. i completely forget now that i've done so many swaps and messed with my PS.

wiring harness; keep the engine harness with its own engine.

Re: Compatability issues need help

^^^ he nailed it
the main issue will be the harness other than that you may need a lil creativity but thats it
the only issue i see with the PS pump is the little notch on the back of the bracket on the PS pump for the H23
