need help with idle control valve

my idle control valve went bad and i want to know if i can used one from a 90-93 honda accord? or another type of car i can find at wrekling yard,part is to expensive, and im broke.

i got a 1992 prelude with h23

have you tried cleaning it??
and if you get one from around the same year i dont see why it wouldnt work

Clean it, remove it and spray carb cleaning into it till it's leaking clear fluid, careful of the plug.

If you're problem persists, you can try and swap it. Any accord model should work, especially the early 90's series. The only difference is that the coolant lines are a little different, but it's the same thing. Although I've gone through 3 junkyard IACV's and they've all failed within a week. I just threw down 200 dollars for a brand new one to avoid any further headache's. If you have the money, always go new.

and like terror said, be careful not to get carb cleaner on the plug itself, only use electrical contact cleaner to clean the plug (not a bad idea to clean that while you've got it off by the way)

I can sell you mine for cheap, im parting my car also look into accords at the junk yard

Hey i have one i'll sell you. I brought it and ended up not needing it, its still in the box. Its has been cleaned and tested and comes in great shape, barley can tell its been used(not on my lude) holla at me if you want it
