Re: crankshaft seal and balance shaft seal

to remove, just rip them out.

to install; is the engine still in the car? and if so, is the oil pump still on the engine?
if the answer to both these questions is "yes", your either going to need to buy a seal driver, or make-shift one with a big-ass socket.

Re: crankshaft seal and balance shaft seal

ugh its always something with this rebuild. At 240k miles it obviously needs to be done. Any good links for the tool? Is it really necessary to use the tool?

Re: crankshaft seal and balance shaft seal

you really don't need the tool although it does make things easier i did mine with a big hugeish socket and a rubber mallet you just have to make sure they are seated properly. not all that hard really

Ya a really huge socket, for the crank shaft seal at least. I watched some videos and it does seem very easy , does kragen rent the tool maybe?? I'll check in the morning.
