Re: what the f**k is this???

The picture is kinda at an awkward angle. That is UNDER the oil filter right? If so, I believe that is the Oil Pressure Sensor/Sending unit.

Re: what the f**k is this???

Looks to me like the oil pressure sending unit. As there is no oil in this part I find it hard to believe that this is what's leaking. As said above, check your filter, it's probably loose, or something screwey is up with the mounting bracket.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Make sure your oil filter is tight, and make sure your oil cooler o-ring isn't leaking (it's a very common problem).

It's like, inside the oil cooler where the filter mates to it.... here's a pic:

Honda Automotive Parts

Part number 33 in that diagram I believe.

YEEEP!

Your oil cooler ring is shot, I had this problem no more then a month ago. The leak can get pretty bad, and if it fully goes you will lose all your oil within minuets and not know it till it's too late. Dont risk it, change it.

Simply take off the oil filter and there will be a giant bolt right there, its a 30mm socket, deep well, go purchase one if you need to. Once that bolts off, pry off the cooler, and the seal will usually be stuck into the cooler itself, it'll feel smooth. Get a razor and pry off the old seal, and slap in the new one into the groove.

It is the oil pressure sending unit, and these are a common source of oil leaks, along with the oil cooler o-ring. Changed plenty of both

Re: what the f**k is this???

i leaked mad amounts of oil when the oil cooler gasket blew out. when u take the oil filter off youll see that what it screws onto, actually unbolts itself. right there you will find the oil cooler gasket. very easy fix. good luck

Re: what the f**k is this???

Easiest way is to get one of these: MFactory Competition Products - Forged Transmission Components

It's pretty straight forward from there. That goes between your oil cooler and filter and as you can see it has 2 spots to tee something into it (oil pressure gauge, oil feed line for turbo, etc).

If you don't want to buy that, check this out: Oil pressure gauge install Mechanical - Honda-Tech

Re: what the f**k is this???

aem has one, its kinda expensive though.

AEM Oil Pressure Gauge 0-100PSI

and to beat a dead horse, check your oil cooler o-ring. also, when you replaced your filter you made sure that the old oring came off with it right? sometimes they can stick and when you put the new filter on, you double up the filters o ring. in that case though, you usually dump oil, not leak/drip.

Re: what the f**k is this???

noob statement here, but u also want to wipe some oil on that oil filter gasket before putting it on. that way when it warms up it ensures a good burnt on seal
