Engine overhaul?

('92) So the belt that goes to the alternator/ac/power steering (if i remember correctly) kept falling off, so my dad adjusted it. he didn't realize he needed whatever pressure tool that would make the nut really tight, so it kept messing up. I had my car taken to the shop, and soon after it got there, the timing got off by something "freezing", so it whacked a lot of stuff up. My granddad paid for a mechanic to fix it lately, but turns out it would be like $2000 for him to do it. Is there a way to get a new (either basically not used, or actually new) engine for it, and if so, does anybody have any idea how much it would cost?
Sorry that i dont know the details, i really dont know that much about cars lol

Re: Engine overhaul?

"New"?? No. They stopped making our engines when they stopped making our cars, back in '96.

Re: Engine overhaul?

Ah okay. Do you have any tips on how to find a used engine? I haven't a clue on how to go about doing so

Re: Engine overhaul?

Try hmotorsonline or tigerjapanese for used motors. Lots of people use them, Hmotors more so.
