H23 rattling noise

So my car seems to rattle whenever i get to 2k rpm and no one seems to figure out what it is. so i decided i'd upload it and see if anyone can figure it out.

my memory stick was full so i only had enough time for this video. i'll make a nother video tomorrow whene there's more daylight. but yeah, if you pay attention. you can hear it when i get to the 2k RPM.

if anyone have any ideas or suggestions that would be greatly appreciated .

thanks in advance.

^^^^what Prelude4WS said, but was your a/c on?

if its valves, its about a $10 1 hour fix if your mechanicaly inclined. theres a right up on how to adjust them. its a common thing on hondas, but should be taken care of

Re: H23 rattling noise

..... NOT valves. Mounting bracket for the exhaust manifold. most likely the onewhere the downpipe connects to the block. Or, the heatsheild bracket. Both VERY common on these cars.

The torque of these engines and the sharp bend of the exhausts tend to cause brackets to break, then rattle at certain rpms....2000-3000 is a pretty turbulent range

:edit: after listening to it again with my headphones on, I'm nearly 100% sure thats what it is. Sounds EXACTLY like what mine was. Check the mount under the car where it mounts to the block, two bolts. My MR thread has pics of the broken brackt on the pipe when i replaced the whole thing with a header if that helps. Mine was completely broken off, and the two peices would rattle together....LOUDLY lol. Usually right at around 65 mph too haha. A quick use of the search function here would have popped up NUMEROUS threads on the same.

both of which i had rattle on me for the longest time too until i figured out where it was coming from. op-check these two out too since they both generally rattle at 2000 rpm

yeah, i noticed the heatshield rattled too, so i pressed on it with a screw driver, and i still had the noise from the bottom so that's why i uploaded the next video.
