Got into an accident :( But, minor body damage only

Today around 7am, I was driving on I-75 today going straight when the lude suddenly jerked towards the right. Basically the car was turning right with a straight steering wheel. I have snow tires on the front and regular tires on the back. I think the back tires tend to slip a few times. Maybe that's what happened.

I compensated by turning left and then it turned left too much and then I was going left and right a few times. I think I ended a little sideways on the right lane and somebody hit me. They hit me right on the place where the bumper, passenger fender and the hood comes in. The right headlight, corner light was smashed and the bumper ripped off the body :( Also, there is bump behind the door, just a bunch of scratches on the passenger door.

Fortunately, everyone was going 50 and there was just body damage for me. I stopped to the left of the road to see so that I could exchange insurance information but there was no-one else stopped on the road. So, after waiting like 5 minutes I drove off too.

I will post pictures later today. I have cheapo eBay halo headlights that I will replace, need to get corner lights and plugs and find a new bumper cover. The corner of the fender and hood is bent but it's a tiny tiny part so hopefully it will bend back out and won't need replacement.

I feel lucky that there was so little damage but really pissed because well, getting into an accident sucks. I have to spend the weekend fixing this. And, tomorrow is supposed to be 1 foot of snow and working in the cold sucks.

Also, the one of the nostrils was ripped off the car. One is still there and the other one somewhere on the highway.

Also, is this a prelude bumper?

Looks strange but definitely a front bumper for a fourth gen. Take that "grill" sh*t out if you do buy it.

Glad to hear you're okay dude. Accidents suck for numerous reasons but the biggest is having your pride and joy messed up...also glad to hear you're gonna fix it.

Re: Got into an accident :( But, minor body damage only

Temperature finally got above 50 here in Detroit and finally got around to fixing my car after the accident.

These pictures right after the accident. I drove the car pretty much like that until today except I put in new headlights.

And, now today, after I fixed it up somewhat

I had to buy a new bumper rebar (reinforcement bar) because the old one was slightly bent somewhere that the bumper cover wouldn't fit on it. I had to buy the turn lights in the bumper, corner lights, the vent replacement lights (cheaper than buying vents!) and a bumper cover. I had headlights lying around from a while ago but I haven't hooked up the halo yet. I don't have brights because the previous owner had been messing with the headlight wiring for some reason. It's gobs and gobs of electric tape everywhere.

I also deleted all the plastic stuff that was under the bumper in the passenger side. I think it was for the old air filter. Mine has a cold air intake or whatever those things are called in there.

Still need to do a lot of things :(
1. Need a new fender. The cheapest I could find one is $110 here. The junkyard price is around $50 but none of them have a 4th gen prelude right now. So I'm waiting for a new 4th gen prelude to arrive at a junkyard or I might just get the fender at $110. I'm ridiculously poor :(

2. Need to put in fender liners /splash. I got them for $36 shipped for both left and right at rockauto but I have to collect enough of those plastic screws from the junkyard.

3. I need to learn to paint and do body work. Clear coats are staring to peel off, honda cancer on the rear fender, bumps on the rear fender from the accident, and the multi-colored panels.

4. Need to put in all the plastic screw pieces on the fender. There are a whole bunch under the headlights which I can't figure out what to put in.
