Suspension Help

So after doing some research I still can't decide to get coilovers or shocks and struts. I'm not too sure what kind of a ride each will deliver, any help is awesome.

Re: Suspension Help

it all depends on how much money you are looking to spend, you will get a better feel with the shocks and struts if you get a good set, but coilovers you will get everything for cheaper, i tend to stick to adjustable coilovers

Re: Suspension Help

if your lookin for ride comfort dont get coilovers.

either they are way too bouncy (cheap ones) or way too stiff
i have skunk2 coilovers on my DD and really dont like it.
it would be ok if it wasnt my DD, but i prefer springs.

Re: Suspension Help

if your looking for performance and dont really care about the ride comfort, then GOOD NAME BRAND coilovers all the way. if your wanting a drop and still maintain a good comfy ride, drop springs.

Re: Suspension Help

basically im willing to spend around 200 or a little more.
smooth ride isn't at the top of my list when shopping, so I think ill get coilovers.

Anyone know good BRAND name ones besides Skunk2. Everyone I know who has em says they're way to bouncy..

I feel dumb but don't coilovers take the place of struts?

I thought it was one or the other....lol

alot of ppl i know run ground control coilovers with koni yellow struts.

and to your other question about the struts, no the coilover doesn't replace the strut unless you get a full coilover suspension.

Re: Suspension Help

it all depends on what your willing to spend, cuz for about 900 you can get a set of Ksport Kcontrol pro's (full coilover set up) that are fully adjustable and ride amazing.

or on the other end you can spend maybe 2-300 and get a good set of drop springs(or coilover sleeves) and keep ur stock struts. thats what im on right now on my lude

Re: Suspension Help

I looked into the Ksports once, they look good but i heard they had a reputation for not lasting too long though. Has anyone had any personal experience with them? They look like a good bet since i still use my lude as my DD but i don't want to be replacing suspension parts all the time. Stiffness doesn't really bother me as long as performance is good.
