Icon14 H22A build for turbo, any help? advice?

i have a 93 prelude, swapped engine with a H22A, its got 55k miles on engine and tranny, i ship out in a couple of months, due to my career. ill be back by the end of this summer. i plan on building my engine up for a Turbo drop. i want to be able to boost at least 10psi, dont know to much except i need to build my engine before boosting it. any advice? any one done this before?

any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: H22A build for turbo, any help? advice?

look in the forced induction thread. people can run 10psi on stock motors, but you will have to get it tuned really well for it to be reliable. and dont use ebay and no-name parts for your turbo set up.

there is a thread titles "So you want to go turbo huh?" its a very informative read.

whats your career?

Yeah some of my friends have ebay turbo kits that works fine and there are others who cars run like ****. I guess it depends on how long you want it to last but seeing that you will have the $ to make it reliable may the force be with you...lol

Re: H22A build for turbo, any help? advice?

turbonetics or garret. i recommend for turbos,

i heard skunk 2 has great internals,
boosting on stock = not totally.. good, piston rings i do believe and the walls are our down fall in h22s D:
6-8 psi = safe :D.

Re: H22A build for turbo, any help? advice?

and again, its all in the tune. the best thing to do is have a good reputable tuner already in mind. I (we) cant stress enough how much people overlook this.

oh and one more thing, GET IT TUNED!!!! lol

Re: H22A build for turbo, any help? advice?

haha yea ill keep the skunk internals in mind.. im going to do some major work on that engine, 6-8 psi is good, my car is already anywhere between 200-210hp. so that will give me some gain. id really like to see it pushing 10- 15 psi for when i really wanna womp on some people, but i will make sure its safe. i wont let myself destroy my own car. haha just means ill have to put more money into it.
