power door locks on prelude s?

So i have a 93 prelude s and was wondering if it is at all possible to swap the door locks from the s for power door locks on a 4th gen? has anyone done this or know if its possible to do, or what would be needed to do so? is there a tutorial out there somewhere? thanks

Re: power door locks on prelude s?

your best bet would be to get an after market alarm installed and when they do just have them throw in some actuators. cheapest and easiest thing to do, plus you'll have keyless entry!!

Re: power door locks on prelude s?

I have a S as well.

I got a door from an SI on my driver's side but the wire harness is different. I had to switch the harness from my S back in and had no connectors for the power locks.

So, if you want to run power locks, you'll have to do some work. However, there is a spot in the fuse box for the power locks. I don't know if the relays and what not are in the car or not.

Anyway, I got a power lock for the passenger side from the junkyard as well. I will be wiring it all up when the winter passes in Michigan.

I haven't seen a tutorial specifically for the preludes except generic ones.

Also, as a warning, there are a few plastic parts in the lock system which tend to snap.

ok well thanks but after some research it seems like the easiest thing would just be doing an aftermarket alarm. thanks
