Vtec EL guages/dash swap into a 92?

Hello! I'm new to the forum and looking for some Prelude-guru opinions on a swap that I'd like to attempt. I know my way around cars so I think that I can do it, the question is if it can be done! I've battled my 96 Oldsmobile Aurora's many problems countless times. I'm actually an administrator over on the ACNA, or the Aurora Club of North America.

One of my good friends used to have a 94 Vtec. It was tricked out. I'm not sure of the brands on some of the upgrades but it had a full body kit, iceman cold air, AEM ecu, konig rims, sparco short shifter, touchscreen nav, dual exhaust, Alpine amp and sub, plugs and wires, chrome heads (was that factory?) etc. I loved it. The thing that stood out the most tho was factory EL guages. I especially love the way the dash looked so clean and stealthy when the car was off and how everything was digital.

My roommate has a 92 Si. (I think that's what trim it is, I'm not sure. It's the best USA trim for the 1992 model year.) It has the analog gauges, but I'm sure you all knew that. He wanted to know how hard it would be to swap in a dash and cluster from a newer (94-96, right?) Prelude so that he could have the EL gauges.

Any insight that you all could lend would greatly help me out. I'll be utilizing the forum heavily if I end up attempting this. If anyone has done this, would you mind saying what it ended up costing you in the end? Great forum, thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Vtec EL guages/dash swap into a 92?

Anyone? Any help at all would be appreciated, even if you can only confirm that the dash/gauges will switch in with little trouble. I don't want to buy it and have it not fit! I'm pretty sure it will but I thought I would ask some people with experience!

Re: Vtec EL guages/dash swap into a 92?

yes it can be done
quite simple i might add

just need the gauges the little silver box in the back of them
there is a write up somewhere for it a quick search should find it
if not look up EL cluster prelude swap on google
