Re: oil pressure gauge, i reasearched first i swear!!

i have/had a glowshift oil pressure gauge, along with boost and a wideband O2, and i gotta say the oil pressure was prolly the hardest one to install due to you gotta tap the block somewhere for the sending unit to read the pressure.

the smartest thing for you to do instead of hanging the sending unit directly off the block, which plenty of people have snapped off from revving and other shiit, then you need to redrill/tap the threads, etc....
is to buy the remote mount kit, here;
stealthmode//performance

correct. it'll go;
[engine] -- T -- [stock pressure sensor]
..................|
..................|
[aftermarket sending unit]

and no, that's the knock sensor. the pressure sensor is UNDER the oil filter on H's, with a single wire going to it and a rubber condom covering the sensor.

Can you put a analog oil pressure gauge on a 4th gen lude that won't trip the engine light?

Re: oil pressure gauge, i reasearched first i swear!!

Its not meant to get inside the cabin, all it does it relocate the oil pressure sending unit, off the block. So its not prone to breaking off and leaving you with a million new problems.

All you would do is mount the sending unit somewhere, then extend out the wire from the back of your gauge.

The braided hose goes directly to the block?

Re: oil pressure gauge, i reasearched first i swear!!

if you got the right AN fitting for the block it sure could. Mine is mounted on my head by the EGR valve. But if you get the fitting for the T adapter then you can use that too.

Theres different ways to go about it.

Re: oil pressure gauge, i reasearched first i swear!!

i know this is kinda confusing, i was confused when doing this as well.

i made this drawing when i was researching too;

as long as you get the AN block fitting from stealthmode, you put that fitting in between the block and the braided line, then instead of the turbo feed line, the T will come with one nut to block one of the ports

Re: oil pressure gauge, i reasearched first i swear!!

ok, its making more and more since, but according to your drawing the kit comes with a 4 way t? Shouldn't a t adapter be a 3 way. I will order that kit today

Re: oil pressure gauge, i reasearched first i swear!!

sry i'm confusing myself, you, and prolly some others too. but as mentioned, there are a couple ways to do it, and mine is slightly different.

i was confusing that blue 3-way Tee with a different block fitting that they offer. that first link that i posted should be all you need

Re: oil pressure gauge, i reasearched first i swear!!

Okay this should be the correct stock oil sending unit [dummy light] !!!!!

real oil sender1.jpg

Now I see one wire that just unscrews, then I see two places to take apart which I marked one and two. Do I undo 1,2, or 1 and 2

Re: oil pressure gauge, i reasearched first i swear!!

I have a 2.3 not sure if its the same, here are the only pics I could find right now. It's basically under the oil filter. Take off the stock boot and you will see a plug with the just 1 wire and it screws on.
