no clutch needed????

today i went out to warm up me and my dads cars. his car is an automatic so i just jumped in and turned the key. then i did the same with my 94 5-speed and it started right up! i didnt even need to push in the clutch. Is there something wrong or is this some kind of feature? thx again pz

Re: no clutch needed????

you most likely have a clutch kill/over-ride switch installed, from the previous owner.

get under your dash, look at the very very top of the clutch pedal, you'll see a 2pin switch. see if this connector is either cut off and extended the wires the a remotely mounted switch, or if the connector is jumped.

BTW i was up in lincoln, NH this weekend at loon mtn. i'm gonna crash at your place next time it takes us 11hrs to make a 5.5hr trip. cool?

Re: no clutch needed????

WOW, first of all thx. the two pin connector is extended onto another part of the wire harness underneath the dash. i can tell there was a switch by the steering wheel that is now removed. i also saw two black wires running from the firewall that are cut, not to mention i saw a couple fuses that were not connected. the fuse panel cover is missing so i have no clue what isnt hooked up. the last owner deff did a hack job so im gonna need alot of help and wireing diagrams.
