Re: trouble finding the car

a 5spd h22/h23 4th-gen with leather, good body condition will run you more than $2500 .. and it will be very hard to find .. keep looking is my advice, it will take you months to find exactly what you're looking for .. and when found, expect to pay around $ 5000-6000 for a stock '94-'96 VTEC model. Good luck

Re: trouble finding the car

Try this website:

SearchTempest - The EASY way to search Craigslist

It searches mass craigslist sections around your area. It's fairly simple and should need explanation. Just type you area code and what you're looking for. Good luck.

Re: trouble finding the car

I think leather interior is the hardest to find and easiest to change when you find leather seats.

Anyway, you can get a lude first and then look for leather seats for the lude and swap them out. I have black leather seats that I bought locally on craigslist that I swapped out for my cloth seats.

There are some wrecked ludes on eBay that have leather seats in their pictures. You can ask to buy that.

And, along with the leather seats, the door panels have a little bit of leather on them as well.

Prolly a good f22 lude. And honestly, if I got a 4th gen, thats prolly what motor I would want most. Freakin boost the **** outta it. If you wanna go all motor tho, I would definitely keep looking for a vtec lude.

i guess ill lower the search for the f22 base then
anybody know any issues with these engines? my old accord had the f22b1 that was a solid engine. only problem was it went through alternators left and right for some reason and i hate the high pitch of the SOHC

Re: trouble finding the car

Find one that needs a little work. Mine was 1400, it needed a rack and pinion, fixed a vacum leak and it didn't start with the key (simple ground issue). Oh, it was a h22a swap, why I bit. ;) Took almost 5 weeks of daily checking to find it. Takes time.

Those are dealer prices. Totally depends on what shows up on good old craigslist.

I saw a 93 vtec for $1000 since it had idle issues (surging to over 3k all the time). But, stuff like that comes out once every 2-3 months.

If you are willing to mend body damage then you could get less than $800.

I don't see why you can't get what you want for $2500 budget as long as you're willing to wait for it to show up.
