Icon13 Clutch :frown:

So I drove to a friends house and let it sit for a couple hours get in and realize it's really hard to put it into gear. Start driving and can't and I mean can't put it into 3rd and get it to advance and check clutch fluid and replace the slave cylinder and line. Rebleed and still it got worse and now is undriveable, so I think that the clutch fingers are destroyed and not fully engaging. Now I have to buy a new clutch kit, mind you I just replaced the clutch 3 months ago. So the moral of the story is don't trust ebay clutches. Any recomendations for a new kit for like 200 bux.

Re: Clutch :frown:

I recently had a new clutch, master and slave all replaced in my Accord. I had the same problems you are describing. First I had the clutch and slave replaced with OEM Honda replacements. Then it ran fine for a few days and all of the sudden wouldn't shift into certain gears. I bled my car thinking that maybe there was air in the lines and got it feeling solid again. After a short while my car started doing the same thing again. I repeated this process quite a few times with no love. I took it back to the mechanic (a good friend of mine with quite the reputation) and he said that maybe my master was bad and we could go that route. He replaced the master and once again it was good for a few days then I couldn't get it to go into gear for nothing. Usually I could get it to go into gear if the car was shut off but now I couldn't even get it to do that. I got the car back to the mechanic and he started to do his thing again. He took off the slave and put on a new one and wouldn't you know it my problem was solved. The OEM Honda slave that was sent out the first time was actually the culprit and my mechanic was shocked, said that he hasn't ever seen that before.

I don't know if you are having the exact same symptoms but you might want to check out these items as well.

Also...

What is happening when you bleed it? Is the pedal getting solid or is it staying mushy.

EXEDY OE STANDARD COMPLETE CLUTCH KIT SET KHC03 - eBay (item 400177393245 end time Jan-29-11 10:19:01 PST)

Although, I would recommend a lightweight flywheel as well since you're in the part of the car anyways.

EXEDY OE STANDARD CLUTCH PRO-KIT+FIDANZA FLYWHEEL SET - eBay (item 150521755730 end time Jan-16-11 17:59:39 PST)

Good luck with your car man

Feels the same as before, mushy. The clutch I bought XTR RACING STAGE 1 CLUTCH KIT PRELUDE ACCORD ACURA CL - eBay (item 400115652875 end time Nov-15-10 11:50:21 PST) biggest POS, should have listened and spent the extra 40 bux for quality.
