96' mazda POS purchase for... Rebuild + turbo upgrades for my 95!?

Today i purchased a 96 mazda w. 102k to be used for my daily driver ($1500) 1 owner, great price and good condition.

I plan on running a T3/T4 set-up on my F22a1 motor . The engine has 182k. I've done some research and found out the motor i have has the strongest internals(stock) and don't necessarily have to be upgraded for boost.

i want to run 7-10psi and put out around 250-275 hp. The car is light as **** so this should be possible?

Any suggestions on installing a rebuild kit prior to the upgrade?

parts already replaced:
master slave cylinder
CV axles - both sides
spark plugs
valve cover gaskets
starter
starter ignition switch
new battery
and plenty more... just can't think on top of my head.

Any tips?

1st thing you should do is a compression and leakdown test to assess the health of the motor. Then if everything checks out you should get all honda OEM gaskets, seals, parts for a rebuild (like water pump, oil pump, hg, etc). I don't know if I would trust a cheap ebay "rebuild kit" but maybe others can comment on that.

That is a big hp upgrade you're looking for. I think stock your engine is 135hp, so 250 is a pretty big jump. I think you will be asking a lot of your aged internals, but check and see if anyone else has done this and how it worked out for them.

Good luck man. I'm always happy to see someone upgrading their lude.

hate to say it but he's right (i dont like agreeing with ivan). But the motor was not first built to be boosted so its not a good idea to boost it on stock anything. and 250hp is not going to be very impressive after a while, your going to have a hard time with H and K's with minor bolt on's (from what ive read) and more than likely your deff gona want to turn that boost up and make more power so you might as well build the motor.
