Leaking Injectors??

today i came home from the bank and checked my oil. i noticed that it looked like fuel had been leaking from the fuel injectors. there was no actual gas dripping but there was a small wet spot underneath each injector on the manifold. i have a power steering leak that drips onto the exhaust which causes a small amount of smoke to rise in between the head and the firewall. would this be drying out the injector o-ring/seal? thx for the help

Re: Leaking Injectors??

Pics please.

I have a really hard time picturing what you're talking about.

And, why would the smoke only dry out the injector seals?

Any power loss or fuel efficiency issues?

Re: Leaking Injectors??

i agree with other person , you should buy some brake cleaner and spray clean every part thats dirty ,make sure to cover every thing around thats not been clean because brake cleaner will take of paint so be careful , lnjector seal is probably your problem.Tip put some cleaner in tank that will keep fuel system from ,causing other problems, like moisture and injector hang ups .

Re: Leaking Injectors??

wouldnt brake clean dry out/ damage the seals even more? and i heard that fuel injector clean can burn out your injectors and wear away the seals on older cars.

Re: Leaking Injectors??

use octane booster or buy 1 gal of race fuel and mixer in.... not the whole gal. :P just 1/4 per 12 gals it cleans everything.... also are you sure it was gas under them??? did you taste it? smell it? (put it back in your tank thats like 5 bucks lol jp) if it was leaking injectors you would definitely feel a power drop... and you would be getting about 8mpg..... the ecu has to make up the difference in lost pressure and fuel so it forces all it can get up to the ebay to make up the slack..... well hope it all works out but who knows no symptom is the same

Re: Leaking Injectors??

ya it smells like gas but the leak is incredibly small(a small wet spot the size of a dime for about 120 miles) and i just looked up specs on alldata at work today so ill order o-rings, injector cushion seats, and seals in a bit. if anyone one else wants, ill do a write up on it.
