p14 on an h22a????? p13 issues????

So I just traded a 96 eclipse I had for the past couple years for a 93 prelude with a jdm h22a swap. When I met up with the guy, everything seemed legit, but after having it for a few days and scrutinizing every little part on this car...I now realize that this guy was a complete jackass. I could go on about all the things wrong with this car, but my main question is about the ecu.

One of the things wrong with this car was the amp wiring. Not that big of a deal, but the way he ran it (by the fender and not through the firewall) just pissed me off. I went to tear out the wiring yesterday, and when I started pulling out the rca's from under the ecu cage...I noticed it has a p14. I took it out and checked all the wiring, and the VTEC wire is there and hooked up properly, but from what I know about ecu's...the p14 is not a vtec ecu right?

Well I had a p13 in my house, so I plugged it in, and when I started it, it was idleing super low and really rough. It also didnt want to rev very well. I only had it started for ~30 secs because it was running poorly and it was late, so I just plugged the p14 back in so I could drive it to work today.

So....im wondering what would cause it to run so poorly with the p13 in it. Another problem I found is that the ECT sensor does not have a plug to go in it...thus it is not sending any temp info to the ecu. I took a plug off an extra harness that fits it, and Im going to run the wires myself to the ecu today after work (d13=ECT sensor), but would this cause my car to idle and rev weird? What else would do this?

Maybe I should plug the p13 back in and see what it does if I try to drive it? What do y'all think?

hey
i think the last owner used the h23 injectors to run with p14
so when u put the p13 it ran like ****. p14= 240cc p13=345cc
therefore u will need a h22 injectors and im pretty sure that well solve your problem

Ah, that would make complete sense. Awesome, I will have to pick some of h22 injectors up asap and see if that fixes my p13 issue. Thanks for the help.

Will I need a different fuel rail or regulator or anything with the new injectors? Or would the ones from the h23 work just as good?

Im not sure...im not exactly sure which injectors these are. Im only speculating that they are h23 since the diagnosis on putting the p13 in makes sense. How much are you asking for the h22 injectors?

When i did my first h22a swap my dumbass ex-stepdad put the old h23a1 injectors on my H22a, so when we started it with the P13 the idle was was ragged and would sputter and backfire in gear. Swapped in the H22a injectors and all was well.
