Stereo wiring

Just picked up my second prelude (4th gen this time), the previous owner took out the stereo, and instead of unplugging the stereo from the harness he cut it. So there's no plug to put a stereo in and I have no idea what the color code is. I have a few plugs laying around from other cars, would one of these work? I have a few from 5th gen preludes and one from a 94 civic si. And if so where do the wires plug into? Pictures would be a great help.

Re: Stereo wiring

you could also go to your local car audio shop or best buy and ask them for the into car wiring harness. it shouldn't cost you more than like $15-$20. you can also see what the harness looks like and get the color codes at metraonline.com. I use to work at a car audio shop and for the most part it is usually easier with the harness but u can hardwire it too.

Re: Stereo wiring

or use our resource guide and DL the manual that tells you what and where all the wires are in your car.

Re: Stereo wiring

just wire the new stereo yourself, yellow battery, red ignition, black ground, blue remote to amp, and the rest speakers!
