blah, blew my engine through starvation

I got a 92 Prelude SI4WS, that's suppose to have a h23, but the previous guy put in a f22a1 for whatever reason. I rebuilt the block over the summer and at 30xx miles later, it blew on me.
I duno how, but I was running the car without any oil (was probably burning oil, haven't checked my oil pan yet) and the internal's got scrambled while going down the highway. Now I'm just looking for another motor to swap.
I've got a f23a4 but the swap sounds like a pain going to obdII and having to rewire/collect parts. So I'm probably just going to see if I can find an H23 locally or another F22a1.
Shouldn't be a problem going back to an h23, already have the p14 ready.

Just kinda pissed that the motor had to die in that fashion after I just rebuilt it.
Plus I'm kicking myself in the ass over the thought that I could have rebuilt it improperly, and that I didn't check my oil and change it soon enough considering my relatives own an autoshop 2 miles from my place; procrastination FTL

Sorry if this eats bandwidth or w.e, just felt like ranting.

Re: blah, blew my engine through starvation

lmao, i snapped my crank in half starving my old H23 of oil. who knew?

lemme know if you need any engine parts, i have about 3 engines in pieces (F22's and H23's) about 20 miles north of you
as well as a perfectly running F22a1 that's still in my car, on jack-stands.

Shouldn't the oil light have come on warning you that you were driving without oil?

I was thinking of hookup a oil pressure gauge just for situations like these. I'm a real cheapo so I saw Harbor Freight sells the electronic one for $20 or the analog one with ammeter and temp sensor for $20 or the analog one for $10.

Should I hook up the oil pressure sensor electronically or directly through a tube?

Also, would like to mount on the left side in a pillar instead of gluing to the dash. I searched but couldn't find any pics of luders who had done it.

I was planning on putting an LCD in the dash by the gas and temp gauges, like an extension LCD from the head unit.
