whistling noise can't tell where from

Hey when I turned on my car today i heard a whistling screeching noise so i cut it off quickly.. then i turned it again and the noise came on again but then stopped.. and for a while now every time i step on the gas it whistles i used to think it was a leak in my exhaust but now i have doubts.. when im cruisin no whistle but like if i step on it a lil harder it goes ssssssssssssss lol... any ideas? could it be a belt? they look fine to me.

P.S f22 engine.. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

...are you turbo'ed lol
1.)check your intake
2.)check your belts and pullys
3.)look for broken vacuum lines
4.)if 1-3 fails post a sound clip

Re: whistling noise can't tell where from

how long have you had the car?
you never noticed this before?
and have you done any recent mods to your engine?

because my car started making a whistling noise, similar to a supercharger only quieter when i removed the top pulley cover, due to im assuming hearing the belts/air more.

Re: whistling noise can't tell where from

Probably just a belt. Mine does this too if I get it wet during a wash.
