awful squeeling while backing up

so my front passenger side, what seems to be the brakes, makes a disgusting high pitched squeek and grind when i am in reverse and moving, but as soon as i tap the brake pedal it stops. could my caliper be seizing? it does it while driving forward on occasion but is much louder in reverse.

Re: awful squeeling while backing up

saw that it might possibly just be that i need to replace my pads and rotors, which i knew i needed anyway. true? the only thing that baffles me is that it stops when i hit them

Re: awful squeeling while backing up

Yeah, the pad could have have worn unevenly due to any number of things, and the way those wear sensors are built it could just be that it rubs in reverse instead of forward.

I would replace your pads and at least that rotor, all four if you have the money.
