Corner Balancing

So I corner balanced my 4th gen today, and now the rear sits about 1" higher than the front. The front is about 22.8" from ground to fender and the rear is about ~24".

So needless to say my car have sort of a rake now(front lower than rear.) Did anyone else try this and have the same results? I don't have the exact weights and heights at each corner right now but I'll try to find them.

The rear L & R are pretty close to each other, and the front L & R are close to each other too. But the fronts compared to the rear have about 1" difference.

Re: Corner Balancing

my 5th was corner balanced when I did my full suspension setup. mine sits higher in the rear as well. to semi compensate I have a thicker sidewall on my rear tires. It keeps the fender gap even from front to back. Gives it kind of a muscle car look. I'm happy with it, despite the constant 4x4 remarks.

function over form man.

Re: Corner Balancing

Won't the bigger side wall in the rear be against the function over form idea =P

Re: Corner Balancing

not really. it was all taken into consideration when balanced. the rims and tires were on the car. all it did was make the rear higher without having a huge gap.

Re: Corner Balancing

Not arguing, more of asking question for educational purposes. Not bashing you in any way if that's how it came off.

Nobody else have corner balanced their cars here?

Re: Corner Balancing

I don't think they have. at least no one has talked about it.

my tire sidewall is much smaller than stock, my rims are 18''. it was all taken into account

Re: Corner Balancing

I bet 90% of the people on this forum don't know what corner balancing is.

I am surprised that the rear is raised. But I guess if that is what the scales say I wouldn't mind.

Was it a drag set up or Road Racing Cause they will be very different. Drag you want as much weight as possible on the front wheels, RR you want them all near equal.

Re: Corner Balancing

When we corner balanced a mate's race car, we noticed the same thing. However when we did it, we balanced it entirely in race trim - which means with the driver and all his safety gear in place. To hell with what it looks like when parked, it's how the thing behaves in motion that mattered.

That's exactly what I did. Glad that that's normal. Just wasn't sure if having a rake like that would affect anything.

well what it looks like does matter to me, it doesn't matter as much as the performance. I lucked out when frank set up my suspension because we're the same weight lol
