Icon9 Jerking when "hitting" vTec.. Help

What's up guys..

Ok here's a quick history, I bought a 93 prelude (I love it!) anyways, I bought a brand new jdm h 22 motor with vtec (zero miles I might add!).. I had it professionaly installed.. I got the car back this last Tuesday.. so when I hit vtec it jerks, 1st gear goes thru, 2nd goes fine but once I hit third and hit vtec the car starts to jerk.. it can't be the solenoid since the motor and everything else is new..

Could it be anything else that could be clogged?

Any ideas thanks!

The VTEC solenoid is on the backside of the head, near the distributor. It looks like a little coke can with a green connector plug. Yes, you can clean it yourself. I don't know exactly what to clean it with, but I would venture to say carb cleaner or brake parts cleaner would do the job.

dont use carb cleaner it can shrink the rubber seal . i would say go to your dealer and get one there like 12 bucks .. worth it if you dont feel like doing it again when it starts leaking .. if you must clean it use use brake clean that dosnt have harsh solvents in it .

What about mineral spirits? Will that mess it up?
