Linkage has been Decimated D:

So I was leaving my school today and i tried to go from reverse to 2nd cause atm my first was gone. and basically I had no lateral movement. So I checked it out and the vertical movement linkage line had been absolutely destroyed. All the wires were exposed for about 3 inches! So basically I'm gonna have 2 replace it and I'm wondering one will an accord linkage work with this, and does anyone have one for sale?

Re: Linkage has been Decimated D:

he's talkin about the shift cables. the inner cable is supposed to be exposed for about 3" before going into the outer cable.

you might just be missing the U-clip that holds the cable to the mount on top of the tranny. mine popped off one day (don't ask how) and i lost side-side movement as well.

nononono mister two. I do know what your talking about that uclip busted on me one day and it was scary but um about 6 inches back from the uclip pretty much when it makes the turn to start to go to the firewall the rubber is cut and more than half of the steel cords are broken basically im wondering a hypothesis for this happening and 2 let you guys know i put it on from another used prelude about 2 months ago and could speed shifting really do this? Btw i beat on a car like its no ones business.

Re: Linkage has been Decimated D:

happened to me before too, i tried to take off really hard in first one day and when I went to put it in second it just snapped the side to side cable.. it was really cold that day too, so maybe that could have something to do with it (my car was warmed up too)
