struggling between 3000-3500 rpm

ok so i have figured out most of problems with my new motor other than this. the motor is an h22a1 and when i'm driving the car is fine until 3000 rpm, thats where it gets sluggish and loses power. once the motor gets past 3500 rpm thats when it picks up again, its like i hit a mini vtec. i'm not getting any cels or nothing. could my problem be a fuel problem? timing is where it needs to be, i have new plugs and wires (both ngk), new dizzy cap and ignition rotor, new fuel filter and fuel pump and thats about it. can SOMEONE help me out here?

EDIT: also when i rev the motor the it bogs but when it gets to 2000 rpm its fine and the smell of the exhaust is foul like i have a clogged cat but mine is hollow. its like burning oil but i have no signs of oil burning through my exhaust

well if its bogging than either your getting to much fuel or not enough during that rpm range so i would assume its a fuel problem or an intake problem whens the last time you cleaned your injectors....id run some seafoam and see where that gets you

Re: struggling between 3000-3500 rpm

When I had the motor out I sent the injectors to get bench tested and cleaned. When I got them back they were all atomizing at 74cc. It's a completely stock motor. I rebuilt it to keep it as a daily driver nothing performance other than a 8lb flywheel.

My egr is clean. I took the time to clean it along with my entire intake manifold. I don't have a tune bc I dont have anything performance wise that would require a tune. If it's any help my fuel line goin from the fuel filter to the fuel rail changes color. I think I'm getting vapor lock but my car isnt throwing a cel at all.

Yea just unplug the sensor dude from the actuall egr valve and I'm almost 100% sure that it will run better.
