Reving Idle! with video

Okay so let me put out the scenario of everything. Over the summer i did the throttle body coolant bypass mod using our wonderful DIY

and it said that your idle will most likely change after this mod. Well yeah it idled a little higher and over the summer it occasionally did what it does in this video.

I never noticed any harm from this so i never posted anything, now its getting cold and it does it more, which makes sense. sometimes it revs from 1k to 2k.

Im not really worried about it but just curious if anyone else has this happen or if this is bad and what to do and what nott. K thanks

-Brandon

Re: Reving Idle! with video

Does it throw and engine code?

It only does it when the car is warm? My 4G does this and im about to fix it. I bet its the FIV (Fast Idle Valve).

Re: Reving Idle! with video

probably the fast idle thermo valve FITV like merlin said. or the idle air control valve IACV which if i remember right is the one that you bypass with that tutorial. look up the final idle problem thread to see how to check your thermo valve. if that dosent fix it then i would suggest reverting your iacv back to normal

Re: Reving Idle! with video

Look at the final idle thread and find the fix for the fast idle valve.
