oil leak. need help

Just bought a 95 with an H22 and as I was changing the thermostat I found an oil leak near it. It looks like its coming from the engine block but cant tell. Anyone ever have something similiar...anything helps thanks

Re: oil leak. need help

^^mines doing that right now (drippin on exaust) what do you suggest?
deff need a pic of the engine where you found the leak from there are so many places it could be.
and if its by his thermostat it should be the exaust side lol (front) on the side

Ranger check your oil pressure switch. It's right by your oil filter there is a little place piece on there that could be cracked it's what happened to me

Re: oil leak. need help

yeah i found that out yesterday i think its leaking but i also found out my intake cam seal is leaking so idk if its the oil pressure switch or just the cam seal leaking down and making it look like the pressure switch one of these days imma pull the exaust off and the IM and clean all back there to see whats going on exactly before i spend money on things that i wouldn't need. thanks though

Re: oil leak. need help

ha ha major score in my book for parts stopped by honda today and got the cam plug and the oil pressure switch for $30 all together so ill be swappin parts out tomorrow and ill let yall know how it goes and to the OP that deff looks similar to my leak change out your cam plug (its very straight foward and easy) and while your at it get a new VC gasket ($30 at autozone for VC gasket and spark plug grommets and $7 at dealership for new cam plug) just be sure to use form a gasket around the cam plug and RTV silicone hi temp sealant (black) with your VC and if you really wanna be sure change your distributor O-ring too

Re: oil leak. need help

I have a oil leak in my prelude. I have to put in a quart every week/week and 1/2. I put in good oil too so id love to fix it. oil is all over the bottom of the car near the oil pan. I think its the oil pan or the oil pan gasket/seal. My prelude is a 2000. Do yall know if its tough to replace the pan and seal?

Re: oil leak. need help

nope just remove the collector from the header and the cat then drain your oil then remove all the nuts holding the pan on, remove the pan, scrape all old gasket material off.
put some permetex (black) then put the gasket then reassemble and add oil then poof your done!!!
