Alternating Turn Signals

Soo...on my new BB2, the front turn signal/corner lights light up at the same time when the turn signals are on. On my BB1, they alternated. The corner light would flash, then the turn signal, etc. Was this exclusive to VTEC preludes, a JDM thing, or what? From the little information I could find, it sounds like there was a difference in the wiring harnesses between USDM and JDM Preludes that made the different turn signal flashes. None of the info seemed very credible though, so I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure.

Re: Alternating Turn Signals

I had this problem on my corolla. It was because I had the turn signal wired backwards.

Local Preludes (well, to me anway!) don't do this, and we have the same harness as the jdm cars.

Re: Alternating Turn Signals

Well I think I might have found it: Blinkers(turn signals) don't work! - Honda Prelude Forum - Prelude Online.com

Could it be that the relays are different for some reason? Guess we'll find out when I get a chance to swap them between cars. Those relays are retardly hard to get out, haha.

Re: Alternating Turn Signals

So if it's not a different relay, then it sounds like it could be a difference between the ECU's. Guess we'll find out eventually.

Re: Alternating Turn Signals

Mine alternate. It's an unmolested (before me, at least) '94 VTEC. However, both my corner markers (next to the headlights) are burned out lol. I dunno what will happen when I replace the bulbs.

Re: Alternating Turn Signals

Try turning on your parking lights(running lights?) and then signal(or hazard). They should alternate when they are on. All the signals will blink at the same time when they are off.
