Re: running with out an IACV (Idle Airflow Control Valve)

what motor do you have?
the hoses are routed different depending on the motor.

on my F22 it goes from the t-stat housing, to the IACV, then i'm pretty sure it went to the FITV (i deleted FITV so i'm not positive), then to the back of the IM.

BUTTT on my old H23 i'm pretty sure it was; t-stat, FITV, IACV, IM.

Re: running with out an IACV (Idle Airflow Control Valve)

Ok i have been searching like crazy and i yet to see any diagram, pics, or even something that tell me for sure where the hoses go on a prelude. i have found some stuff for other cars but not the prelude. so if anyone point me in the right direction or get a diagram or pics i would greatly appreciate it.

And to abelsgotspeed i looked in the manual from front to back with no luck so i was just wandering where that info was.

would missing the IACV cause my very low idle, because it seems like ever since the weather has turned colder my car has gotten a lower idle, but on the past week or two it has been in the 80's and i still have a low idle.
my idle goes any where from 580 to 620 maybe + - 20 or so.
i have adjusted the idle screw and it dosnt really do anything unless i screw it in which just lowers it. right not the screw is so far out the treads are about showing and you turn it fairly easy with two fingers.

here is another thing that be a factor i have a leak in one of the hoses before i taped up the leak had a higher idle around 700-720. here is a pic where the leak is at. i will get a better pic tomorrow

Re: running with out an IACV (Idle Airflow Control Valve)

do you have an obd1 or 2 setup?

the inlet comes from the throttle body, outlet goes to the im

if obd2 the 3rd connection is a vacuum line to the back of the block

thats how my euro-r is

Re: running with out an IACV (Idle Airflow Control Valve)

Those hoses come out of the IM, into the FITV, out to the IACV and back to the IM.

Re: running with out an IACV (Idle Airflow Control Valve)

the leak is on the hose that goes to the MAP sensor (left side). Could the MAP sensor be bad and not throw a CEL, because of my low idle.
.
Also could the MAP sensor cause my car to hesitate when i give it a lot of throttle (by hesitate i mean it is like i just stepped on the clutch, the rpm's do not increase but instead they reduces) but when i give a little throttle and steadily increase it it is fine. OR my car sometimes jerks when i am at a constant throttle or give it to much throttle, like as if i were letting off the throttle and stepping back on it. ----> All of this is at speeds are at 35 mph or less. it is fine when i am going faster than this.
.
Thanks a lot JohnnyH23 i dont know how i missed that.

here is the leak
