4th and 5th gen interchangeability?

Alright so I have a 93 sr-v with the crappy center console that has no arm rest or cupholder. I've been trying to find that set up locally but to no sucess. I've been to the wreckers recently to get a few parts for my car and I found a 5th gen therere totally intact.!!!!!!!! In the 5th gen it has a console with 2 cupholders and a armrest. will that fit in the 4th gen? I know i will have to move the ebrake handle since it's stuidly on the other side but if that will fit i would be more then willing to do it. Has anyone ever done this before ??? oh the only difference between the 5th gen and my car besides year and look obviously is the 5th gen is auto my car is 5 speed.

thanks

Re: 4th and 5th gen interchangeability?

I highly doubt you'll have a perfect, bolt-up fit. The 5th gen center console looks a little skinnier than the 4th. The hole for the shifter would more than likely fit (probably would just have to custom mount the shift boot to the plastic somehow) and probably wont mount flush to where you need it.

Granted I've never tried this mod before myself, but I've never heard of anyone even attempting it.

What about just trying to custom mount the 5th gen cup holders into the 4th console? Something like cutting the rectangle into your console, then building a frame to support the cup holder, and mount that bitch on. Could be a pretty cool DIY.
