Re: eff my car

Is your fuel pump priming? Turn the key to the second position, and you should hear a hiss and then a click, keep doing it, on off on off. Let me know if the fuel pump is coming on EVERY time, as it should.

I just had this problem. My car would just turn over, once in a while it would start with no problem, other times it wouldn't at all. I had a bad main relay, the solder joints break in it. Without the relay, the fuel pump wont kick on, and it wont juice your car. Listen for the hiss and click.

Re: eff my car

If your fuel pump is fine and you just replaced your main relay, and you have new spark plugs, you should probably check your dizzy next.

Or maybe there's a unicorn stuck in your intake and it's not getting any air. It's happened.

Re: eff my car

Possibly, but sometimes it's hard to hear. I would check for spark and fuel first. Pull a plug and try to crank, if you smell fuel them you are getting fuel lol. For spark, take a screwdriver and put it in the spark plug wire, and hold it near some metal as you try to crank. It should arc. If no spark? Check ecu, igniter, or coil. If you need more details pm me

Re: eff my car

Another way to check for fuel, this might take 2 people.

Unbolt your fuel line on your fuel filter. The filter is to the right of your fuse box (under hood), and the line you want off is the big top one.

Unhook it, and turn your key to the 2nd position. If it's spitting out fuel, you're good on that at least.

If it's not, you may have a bad fuel pump. Which when they go they go, there's rarely a "dieing" fuel pump.

To access that, without dropping your fuel tank, you need to remove your back seats and metal backing. There is a metal compartment between your back seat area and truck, thats where the pump is.

To actually take it out is a little tricky, gotta fudge with the lines but its possible.

Re: eff my car

I'm having the same issue I think. Except mine will NEVER turn over. I know I'm getting spark (did the screwdriver trick awhile back) and I'm NOT gettin fuel b/c I sprayed sum starter fluid into my intake and she started up (only for a few sec but thats tell, tell sign of a bad fuel pump or fuel lines right?) I'll try to hear the click/hum of the fuel pump to make sure. I was goin out to run out n buy a new fuel pump but you think I should try anything else b4 I do??? Thanks guys!
