what should I do?

I have a 93 si lude that i bought for 500$, the car has no rust but a bad engine. I've always wanted a h22 lude. I've been doing some research and would like to swap the blown h23 for a usdm or jdm h22. Now with what i need help with, I live in ohio an would like to find a jdm shop in ohio or in a nearby state. I dont really want to order on-line but have looked at so many web sites and have found so many diffrent prices like 690 to 1200. if ne body knows of a legit store please let me know. Also if ne body has done a swap like this i need to knw do i need to wire the vtec right in to the ecu or is it already there just need to run to the vtec solinoid. Also i read somewhere i may need to wire the knock sensor.

Re: what should I do?

Haha sounds like me and you are in the same boat my friend, only instead of having no engine, I have an engine that will need its second timing belt here soon, so I plan on swapping it. I am from north eastern Ohio, I don't know of any shops that do swaps though. Well there are a few places up around cleveland that I have had friends refer me to, but everyone I have ever met has just done their own swaps because no one around here has the money to have any one else do their stuff, so they just learn on their own. But welcome to the site, where you coming from? Lol.

Re: what should I do?

What up mang Im from Cbus and doing a refurbish with my H22 lude. That i bought for $500 but had bad rust. Depending where you are you could go to Slomotion motorsports in Galena/sunbury area, or you could go to zerolift auto lab. They seem to be pretty cool. GL mang.

Re: what should I do?

I plan on doin the swap my self, im just lookin to get an engine from a shop in ohio or in a surrounding state. I found a shop call street lethal motorsports in middletown ohio. They want 1050 for a h22a1, an like 1500 for jdm. I really dont wana get it shipped to me becuz i dont wana throw my money away. I did look in to tiger Japanese they had good prices but im a strong believer in you get what you pay for. Every shop i have researched on is almost the same good engine bad customer service, bad engine bad service, alota places dont stand by there warranty. The only place ive herd awesome things about is hmotorsports but a little more than i wana pay. Its just driving me crazy ive had this car for a year and have never got to drive it.

Re: what should I do?

I have a friend named Josh that has bought 7 different motors from Tiger and never had a problem and that is where I plan on going for my H22 come christmas time. But I mean you are right, they have the cheapest prices around and it makes you wonder if they aren't ripping you off..

Re: what should I do?

so saturday i went to street lethal motor sports down by dayton ohio which is 3.5 hrs away from me. I called friday and dude said yeah he had a jdm an usdm h22. the jdm is 1400 and the usdm 1050. now on there web site it said 950 for jdm. also the pics that were on there webpage were from tiger japan. On the phone dude told me that i could see a comp test and a leak test. I called back later friday to ask there hours and that i would be down. when i showed up Saturday the only person that was there was the front desk person who told me that the dude i spoke to had an emergency and would be back by one as she spoke to him on the phone and would call me when he got back. So me an my son drove around and ate for about and 1.5. a little after one we left dayton. i got home around 7 after stopen to see some family and still never received a call

Re: what should I do?

so i have another what should i do, after looking and looking and driving my self crazy looking for a h22 i decided to finish the h23 engine in my car. I dropped it in last night awsome right well getting ready to put the trany in, i need to get a cv axle out of the trany because all thats left was the boot that goes into the trany. i destroyed it to get the trany out because i broke a prybar. so i went to my buddys shop and had him take the air hammer to it. nothin would only go so far out and would stop. so what should i do if ne buddy has an idea on what i should do besides taking the trany apart i would greatly appricate it. Or if some one has an h22 or h23 trany for sale in the ohio area please let me knw as well as a h22 obd 1 engine i am willing to travel.
