Re: honda prelude h23a non vtec swaping for a f20b vtec need help

ok i'm goin to make it simple for you.
things you need
f20b
h22 water pump
h22 timing belt "1 tooth shorter than the f20b" or you could go to some websites and but the f20b t belt for like $150
use your h23 power steering pump bracket just grind off the lip on the back bolts up fine
use your h23 crank pulley and belts
everything is pretty much plug and play, change your injector plugs (keep the f20b injectors)
use your h23 distributor
use h23 wiring harness
either buy a h22 intake manifold or just change the top of the f20b plenum with the h23 ones.
^^^^ if you change them over your going to need to extend your fuel line to reach over to the fuel rail. any place that make hydraulic lines can make one for you just take then the ends that connect to the fuel filter and fuel rail.
use h23 throttle body gasket
your going to have to T off the coolant lines from the intake manifold to each other.
use your h23 radiator hose piece that bolts to the front of the engine block. not sure what its called.
all the same engine mounts.
theres a vacuum line on the drivers side on the top back side of the intake manifold you can cap it off.
h22 oil filter,spark plugs, wires
your going to need to change some temperature sensor plug too and i think thats it.
ok as far as the ECU you can use your P14 but your car will not run at its full potential because the P14 is programed for different injectors then the f20b's
best thing to do is get a phearable.net chipped P28 and have them eliminate the knock sensor. talk to them and tell them what your plans are for the car and they will get it right for you.
wiring in VTEC
Your car is not prewired for it so you will need to do it yourself.
you can google it and there are a million write up on how to do it.
the f20b doesn't have a oil pressure sensor so your going to have to by pass this on your ECU
To do this just jump Pin A4 and D6 your done.
i think thats about it

Hey can anyone tell me how much total it would cost in labor to put a h22a vtec in a 92 prelude, right now I have an h23a non vtec right now and I was needing to know how much the parts and wiring would be, I'm buying the ECU with the h22 for around $1800
