please help me with A/C problem

ok i have a 94 lude and my ac is not working. I charged the system and the compressor never kicked on. so then i jumped the compressor to make sure it works and it did. so then i read the service manual and it said to check the fuses(which were good),then check the continuity of the ac pressure switch which showed no continuity. so then it says to re-run the blue/black wire from the diode to a/c pressure switch which i did. i also ohmed the diode which showed 7.50 volts resistance. I then hooked everything up and got notta anyone have a clue what my problem is.

Re: please help me with A/C problem

Let's troubleshoot:

Your blower motor is working, correct?

If so, then I imagine your problem being:

The solder joints in your climate control have broken and will not engage the A/C (very common)

To check, simply press the A/C button on the far right of your climate control. It should light up towards the top of the button. Also, turn on your headlights (running lights) and check the sliders. The backgrounds should be immuminated. If not, you will need to do this:

INT: 4th gen -Remove Climate Control and Take It Apart

Remember, you DO NOT have to actually remove the buttons. Doing so will cause mass frustration.

Hope this helps.

Have you TESTED the climate control operations according to the troubleshooting guide in the repair manual? It has a step by step pin check for each operation iirc.

Not saying your soldering skills are lacking... but, it is easy to miss a cold solder joint if you didn't actually remove the old solder and re-apply all new.

I figured that I would give him a warning since most people don't read all the way through threads
