where to adjust cams?

hey guys my new motor came with adjustable cam gears. whats the best setting for them?? the head has no work done to it yet. thanks

Essentially, the only time your cam gears should be adjusted is by the tuner.

Adjustable cam gears are a great tool. They can gain power if done right. They have the ability to adjust the power curve to your desired rpm band as well.


Personally, I have seen a stock h22 pick up 8ftlbs and 11whp by adjusting the cam gears alone while on the dyno. Scary thing is it picked up an extra 30whp on a 75 shot of N2O compared to the N2O before cam adjustment. But, if done by an inexperienced novice the results are usually a loss of the above stated numbers or more.
