Icon9 Made a mistake and trying to fix it ...

Well I'll just start of by saying .. I made a mistake. I was the proud owner of a 1995 Honda Prelude SE.

From there I did small modifications such as sway bar, audio, and other small things. Then my first mistake.. I got a body kit

Well after realizing my mistake I saved up and got me a nice WWRS lip kit.

This would be the last picture I will ever take with my lude.

This is where mistake number 2 came in. I drove a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI a year prior to getting my lude. It was quick as hell and i liked it. So I ended up trading mine for a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD.

After a few months, this is where I got.

Now I realized that a DSM turbo wasn't worth it and I'm on a quest to try to find someone either local, craigslist, etc. to trade for a clean lude. Right now I am in the mist of looking. I hope to find one soon. I really do miss it and I can't really believe what I did.Wish me luck on my quest and try not to blast me too much on my past decisions. And sorry for the large font ... dramtic element

Re: Made a mistake and trying to fix it ...

I know they are good cars. Just mine is the 7 bolt and i'm not fond of them. All i've done to that one is replace the fender from where i was hit and put OEM black gsx headlights in to. No rice. But I just miss the lude and It was. It had it flaws (Interior and the engine was going out) but I couldn't be carless between work and school. I'm a senior this year and I'm having to pay for my graduation pretty much myself due to my family's financial status. I was just doing what I had to do.

Man everyone makes mistakes as long as you learn from them it's all good! Granted I wouldn't have done that but to each their own and good luck on your quest.

Re: Made a mistake and trying to fix it ...

I had a '90 Talon TSi with the 6 bolt 4G in it... and that car was freak nasty. Unfortunately, too much sh!t didn't work inside the car, so I got rid of it. Those things are fun.

Re: Made a mistake and trying to fix it ...

So I have no clue as to what 6 bolt or 7 bolt means. What is that? Also, what is crank walk? I'm noob to the engine internals.

Re: Made a mistake and trying to fix it ...

6 bolt motor (obviously less flywheel bolts)

strong crank
bigger rods
larger intake ports
rarely crankwalks
rudementary ECU setup
less emmisions controls
2 main caps are bridged 1&2 and 4&5
stock lower end can easily handle about 450 horsepower

7 bolt motor (more is not necessarily better)

take the opposit of everything listed above
also oiling problems
and girdled main caps

and Crankwalk, or "the walking crankshaft", happens when the crankshaft starts moving around its housing. This causes the crankshaft to, at some point or another, wear into the thrust bearing heavily. This will cause the crank to eventually move a plate that will smash into the crank angle sensor, break it, and shut the car down.

Re: Made a mistake and trying to fix it ...

I'm cruising in a 02 Eclipse now, no turbo or anything but it's free for 10 days cause my buddy let me have it while he's on leave so for the first time since January, I have wheels so I won't complain about anything. It's actually kinda fun and reminds me of the Lude except it's slower, automatic, and not as sexy.

Re: Made a mistake and trying to fix it ...

You definetely really have to love wrenching on a car for an Eclipse. I test drove and almost bought one, then I rechecked craigslist and found my Prelude. Good luck with getting another Lude man. There's a few decent ones on the Detroit craigslist for pretty cheap. Long drive for you though I'm sure.

And E, what happened to your car man?

Re: Made a mistake and trying to fix it ...

My buddy has been trying to get me into the DSM' he says its the best bang for the buck concerning power. Do the 6 bolts come in the AWD turbo'? Havnt read up much on them but I do know that the AWD tend to break more. I heard if you wanna up the power than you need to do something to the drive train/axles or something like that.

The 6 bolt came in the 1st gen turbo dsm's ( fwd or awd ). As far as breaking the transfercase is the first to go on all dsm's and evo's. You just have to know wtf your doing when getting off the line.

You can but 6 bolt's in to 2g. Thats how my old one was .. here is a pic of it

I would really love a trade since it's my DD but if i had a trade lined up i would consider ..
But I would ask 3K just due to how rare they are to find un-molsted by a ricer (I sold a awd set up for $700 last year). would prob. let go for less. just depends on what i find.
