Needing some advice

Wasn't sure where I should put this either here or new member so if it's wrong my bad. I have a chance to buy a 93 Si for $600. from a friend of a friend. Only problems I'm seeing are it has near 200,000 miles, needs some body work and it's auto. I have driven it twice already and have heard no knocking or seen other issues with it so far. My question is will the cost of those two things which I know will need replaced outweigh the thought of only paying $600. for it? I'm sure there's chances of more being wrong with it down the line but those are the major money things as of right now. Thanks in advance.

Re: Needing some advice

If the interior is in good shape, I'd say go for it.

Re: Needing some advice

Snag it. The body can be fixed, and the H-series engine is stout. It's got a lot of life left in it.

Re: Needing some advice

when you say it's auto, are you saying yo want to put a 5-speed in or that theres a problem with the transmission or you just don't like automatics?

Re: Needing some advice

I would just rather a 5 speed over auto is what I mean. Both times I have driven it, it hasn't had any problems that I can tell with the transmission. The friend who introduced me to the seller said if there was a problem it would be "blinking" to throw off the code. I saw no blinking.

Re: Needing some advice

Spending money is what I'll end up doing. But I love the fact it's all stock and I love the 4th gen Preludes. Thanks again guys. I'll post some pics when I take them and do a proper "new member" intro.

Re: Needing some advice

If it runs for $600, it's a no brainer imo
