Types of 94 preludes

I got my 1994 lude from my uncle who owns a transmission shop and received it as payment, so I never got to meet the original owners of it. I'm just trying to figure out which model it is. I'm guessing that it's the basic model... which is just the Prelude S right? But i also know that they made like a VTEC and a Si... How could i figure out which model i have?

It doesn't say S or Si or anything like that on the back, just Prelude.

Thanks.

Re: Types of 94 preludes

probably the easiest way is to get the VIN and go to honda-prelude.com and type it in to the VIN identify. If you have an F22a1 under the hood then chances are you have an S
hope this helps

Re: Types of 94 preludes

Look on the engine block of the engine. It will have a code. F22 is S model, H23 is Si, and H22 is VTEC but the valve cover will say VTEC so you probably have a S model.

Re: Types of 94 preludes

easiest way is to look at the engine code. if you have an f22, its an s, if you have an h23 its an si, if h22, sir

Or here in the states, an H22 equipped prelude is just denoted as VTEC to the best of my knowledge. Some call it Si VTEC, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong stateside.

I'm from Canada, mine are prelude si, sr, and sr-v. So I'm probably wrong on the American ones :P

Your both right and wrong lol Si VTEC was used in 1993 only. Then in '94-96 they changed it to just VTEC.

Re: Types of 94 preludes

You can't tell solely off the motor though. What if it was swapped?

And if you have an SR-V, the car is CDM yo!

Ok thanks, I don't think the engine would have been swapped at any point... I'm pretty sure it was owned by an older family, but then again I'm not 100% sure about that. lol
